A refined French gilt silver snuff box of rectangular form, richly decorated with deep blue and turquoise enamel panels. The hinged lid is centred with a circular cobalt-blue enamel reserve featuring an elegant stylised floral motif, surrounded by finely engine-turned enamel and contrasting white enamel borders. The corner panels are further enriched with scrolling turquoise enamel detail.
The interior is fully gilded and clearly struck with French hallmarks, including the Minerva head denoting 950 standard silver (argent doré), together with a weight mark of 40g. The box has a pleasing weight and closes well, with crisp detail throughout.
An attractive and collectible example of high-quality French enamelled silver, ideal as a snuff box, pill box, or decorative objet d'art.
