Investing in Antique Silver or Modern Silver

In the current climate and with interest rate at its lowest. Earning money on savings is not giving you a large return for your money. So finding an alternative is always hard, so look no further and invest in silver,

It's always a good time to invest in silver, buying silver can be lots of fun. Searching for the bargain is not always the best option. But always buy within your means and find the best quality with clear hallmarks.

There are so many different items to collect, where every piece comes in different shapes and sizes. So it's best to have in mind how you would like to start your collection. Maybe start with specific makers or items like Mustard Pots, Christening Mugs, Goblets, Fish Slices, Sugar Tongs, Pencils, Vesta Cases, Match Boxes, Perfume Bottles, Napkin Rings, Silver & Enamel Spoons, Boxes, Snuff Boxes, Nutmeg Graters, Vinaigrettes etc. Some of my clients like to collect one item from each year, for example starting from 1800, 1801 and onwards to the current year. Others collect early spoons like seal tops and trefid spoons from the 1600s onwards

Always look for items you can afford and would get joy from looking at, holding it and showing to friends and family. Maybe look for items from the same maker such as Paul Storr, Benjamin Smith, Hester Bateman, Crighton Brothers, Robert Garrad, Asprey's and Christopher Dresser. There are more makers from the Art & Crafts, Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods such as Stuart Devlin, Christopher Lawrence, Guild of Handicrafts and Omar Ramsden.
