A spectacular, substantial George III Silver Gilt Cup / Vase featuring a half fluted design on the base of the cup and on the pedestal foot. On the one side of the cup is an ornate applied cartouche baring medical imagery. The classical figure wears a draped toga and has carries a snake wrapped staff - a well known mythological symbol of medical practice. The words SALUTI HOMINUM are spread in a arch at the top of the cartouche, meaning something similar to "For the benefit of Mankind". The cartouche at the back of the Cup is blank.

This Cup is in very good condition and is hallmarked.
